What are temporary orders?

Temporary Orders are used in cases in which there is a need for Orders to be in place affecting your children or your property while the case is waiting to be finished, i.e. have Final Orders.

What can be in temporary orders?

In cases involving children, temporary orders can be necessary for the safety and welfare of the children. Other things can be in the temporary orders:

  1. Temporary conservatorship, custody of the children.
  2. Temporary possession, visitation with the children.
  3. Temporary child support.
  4. Health Insurance.
  5. Anything else the court or the parties feel is necessary under the law.

Temporary Orders in Divorce Cases:

  1. Temporary use of property.
  2. Temporary payments of debts.
  3. Temporary spousal support.
  4. Interim attorney’s fees.
  5. Information necessary to equitably divide property and debt.
